After a while we'll stop at a waterfall and perhaps have some refreshments. Another hour or so of hiking and we'll reach a small lake, where we'll spend the night. The following day, sometime in the afternoon, we'll break up camp and start our one and a half hike, up the mountain and down again to the main road, where we'll catch the bus back to Kyoto.
During our stay at the lake you'll be introduced to, and even practise, basic Outdoor skills - Bushcraft - Camp craft - Survival (Camp site choice, putting up shelter, fire making, open flame cooking, Knife & Axe, water purification, First Aid etc). Swimming, fishing and hiking to the top of the mountain and night exploring also possible.

What to bring (minimum requirement):

-Comfortable shoes and clothes, appropriate for the weather conditions and the environment.
-Raingear (if needed)
-Tent, hammock, tarp or any other type of shelter.
-Water & other drinks (juice, coffee, tea etc) for two days.

Full advice and guidance available at your request, as well as recommendations regarding gear, food, clothing etc, just let us know.

You are solely responsible for your own safety at all times, however our Activity Leaders are very experienced and they also are trained First Aiders.

The event might be cancelled in case of bad weather conditions or lack of participation.

Thank you, looking forward to seeing you all !!

We will meet up at the junction of Imadegawa street and Shirakawa avenues (Jodoji bridge) and then walk through the narrow and busy little streets that will takes us to the entrance of Gingakuji Temple. Then we'll head towards the mountain trail and after about 45 minutes of moderate, easy hiking we'll reach the historic site of the Gozan no Okuribi festival. There, we'll enjoy the spectacular view of Kyoto city, have some hot coffee and biscuits, and wait for the sunset. And then it's all the way back to the meeting place.

Themes vary ranging from current social issues to unknown historic heroes who are not taught in school. BRIDGE event has been gaining popularity as it is a completely new type of educational event where you can enjoy learning about history, social studies and morals with lots of fun!
